SRT to text
Drop an SRT or VTT file and get just the words — no numbers, no timecodes, no tags. Free, and the file never leaves your device.
Why convert subtitles to text?
A subtitle file is the full script of a video, broken into numbered, timed chunks. Without the numbers and timecodes it becomes something you can read, quote, translate, search, or paste into show notes, a blog post or study notes.
One paragraph or one line per subtitle
By default the lines are joined into running text. Tick One line per subtitle to
keep each subtitle on its own line — easier to compare against the video. Formatting tags like
<i> and positioning codes like {\an8} are removed either way.
No subtitle file yet?
Get the text straight from the video with Video to text, or make a subtitle file with Video to SRT.
